Biography

Alexander is a Sydney based composer, having studied an undergraduate degree in music composition, with honours, at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. 

 

Throughout his time at the Conservatorium, his work has featured heavily within the annual concert programming, with premieres with the New Music Ensemble and the Wind Symphony. In addition to this, in 2024 Alexander was selected to be a part of the inaugural Conservatorium Winter School with Liza Lim and the Sydney Symphony Fellows. 

 

Outside of the Sydney Conservatorium, Alexander was a part of the 2024 Hatched Academy with Ensemble Offspring, the 2025/26 cohort of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's Cybec program, commissioned by the Parliament of NSW, and has written for The Sydney Youth Orchestras. 

 

In 2026 Alexander will work with and write for Ensemble Offspring and Sydney Chamber Opera.

Alexander studies composition with Jack Symonds
